AI PDF Scanner Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

DikaWorld ("we", "us", "our") built AI PDF Scanner as a commercial app. This page informs you about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app.

By using the app, you agree to this policy.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect:

• Email address — used for login and password reset

We do NOT collect your name, phone number, location, or date of birth.

2.2 Scanned Documents

• All scanned images are stored locally on your device
• We do not upload your documents to our servers
• If you use AI Chat, the extracted text from your document is sent to our Firebase Cloud Function, which forwards it to OpenAI to generate a response. This text is not stored on our servers after processing.

2.3 Camera and Photos

• Camera is used only to scan documents
• Photo library is accessed only when you choose to import an image
• We never access your camera or photos without your direct action

2.4 Biometric Data

• Face ID and fingerprint are used for app lock only
• Biometric data is processed entirely by your device hardware
• We never access, store, or transmit biometric information

2.5 Advertising (Free users only)

• Google AdMob collects device advertising ID and usage data to show relevant ads
• Pro subscribers do not see ads and are not subject to ad tracking
• You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings

2.6 Purchases

• Payments are handled entirely by Google Play or Apple App Store
• We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed
• We never see or store your payment details

2.7 Crash Reports

• Firebase may collect anonymous crash data to help us fix bugs
• No personal or document content is included in crash reports

3. How We Use Your Data

We do NOT:

• ✗ Sell your data to any third party
• ✗ Use your documents to train AI models
• ✗ Share your email with advertisers
• ✗ Store your documents on remote servers

5. Third-Party AI Processing

AI features in the app (chat with your document, AI summaries) are powered by OpenAI. When you use these features, the text content of the relevant document (and your chat questions) is sent to OpenAI's API for processing in order to generate a response.

• Only the text you choose to send by using an AI feature is shared — not your full document library, account info, or photos.
• Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted via the API is not used to train OpenAI's models and is retained only briefly for abuse-monitoring purposes (typically up to 30 days), after which it is deleted.
• We do not share your data with OpenAI unless you actively use an AI feature, and the app asks for your consent before doing so the first time.

6. Permissions

We request only permissions that are strictly necessary for app features.

7. Data Security

• Your account data is stored in Firebase with industry-standard encryption
• All data transmitted between the app and our servers uses HTTPS / TLS encryption
• Documents remain on your device and are never sent to our servers
• Biometric data never leaves your device

8. Data Retention

• Account data is kept while your account exists
• Local documents are kept until you delete them from the app
• AI chat responses are stored locally on your device only

Depending on your country, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to how we use your data

10. Children's Privacy

This app is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe your child has provided personal information through our app, please contact us at support@dikaworld.space and we will delete it immediately.

We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending a notification through the app.
